what is " Mack " ? Hey, Mack, where is the nearest truck stop? i ask this question because i miss fedmaxy's answers and of course Eliot's funny comments.

Hi Safaa, nice to see you back at Italki. Here "Mack" is another word for "man" or "buddy" or "dude." It's used in a friendly manner, when you don't know a man's name.

I think it is just his name. Otherwise all I could find was this: Mack Mack has two definitions: A mack can be a person who is smooth, slick, the Best of the Best, a Pimp, a Ladies Man, the guy who runs everything a.k.a. the Boss. A mack is a person who is always flirting and hitting on girls. Almost always successful at it too.

I agree with Jura, it's like saying "buddy", "pal" or "dude" (or "mate" in Australia). It's typically American. Trivia - "Mack" came from the Gaelic "mac", meaning "son", brought over to the US by the Irish immigrants.
