Do we speak American English in Canada?

Canadian English tends to use British spellings, but American vocabulary. For example, Canadian English uses "labour" and "colour" and "centre" like British English, but American English uses "labor" and "color" and "center". But British English uses words like "lift" and "lorry", while Canadian and American English use "elevator" and "truck". Also, Canadian pronounciation is usually similar to American pronounciation, but some Canadians speak with an accent that is neither American nor British.
