alone = một mình
lone = duy nhất
lonely = cô đơn ̣(và buồn)

Alone is the post nominal adjective. "I am alone."
Lone is the prenominal form of alone. "The lone tree..."
Lonely is a little more complex. It basically is used to describe someone (or something) who is alone but wishes it weren't. It carries a similar meaning to "missing" someone, but is nonspecific.
