what is the difference between ~고 싶어합니다 and ~고 싶다? for example 아버지는 한국에 가고 싶어합니다. and 나는 한국에 가고 싶습니다.

Like your example, "- (하)고 싶어하다" is usually used for the second person or the third person meaning subjects shouldn't be "I".^^/ \^o^/
