Primarily, it means a phone call. However, it can also mean a visit, though that's not the proper word for a visit. For example: Someone may say, "I made a house call." By the way, you misspelled "visiting".

Also, to "call" on someone by visiting them is an expression that is more commonly used in British English, but is also used in American English.
