Why the writer say 'G-d' instead 'God'?

Jews use it that way.Many Jews have afforded the word "God" with the same level of respect as the Hebrew equivalents. Because of this, many Jews substitute "God with G-d so that they can erase or dispose of the writing without showing disrespect to God.

it is the jewish way, i think they have a problem writing God. A superstition on their part. When people believe in something, they try to make it more than it is.
