My blank-faced shrugs were bound to give me away and I had no means to prove I wasn't a heartless killer.
What does it mean by 'to give me away'?

"Give me away" = reveal some secret about me that I don't want others to know.
"He said that he hadn't had any alcohol, but the smell of vodka on his breath gave him away."
"She said that she had been doing her homework all along, but the note from the teacher and her bad grades gave her away."
