Why does Koreans sometimes use 우리 instead of 내/저의?
Example : 우리 엄마가 사랑해요.

It's because there are two meanings in it.
Is that so simple?^^/
(I think "우리" is more like "kita" not "kami" dalam bahasa melayu.)
We use the term "우리" instead of "내,나의..." as a pronoun when we need to indicate a close relationship with an object, which can be a person or thing, or to show where a speaker belongs.
It is often used to address family menbers or country to which a speaker belongs.
1) for your family members
my mom = 우리 엄마
my dad = 우리 아빠
my brother or sister = 우리 오빠/형 or 누나/언니
my younger sister or brother = 내 남동생/여동생
(We usually use "내" for younger sister or brother in place of "우리")
2) for your lover or people who you love
If you are my girlfriend or daughter, I can say "우리 지영이"^^/
우리 T-ARA, 우리 소녀시대, 우리 IU..etc.
3) for places where you belong
my country = 우리나라
my town(where I was born) = 우리 동네
my company = 우리 회사
4) for things which are quite related to you
my car = 우리 차 or 내 차
(When you are sharing a car with somebody, you can say "우리 차", otherwise "내 차")
