What do " estate " and " merchandise " mean in this sentence?
" He got a good estate by merchandise."
and It soppused " merchandise " be an action while it is only a word. :/

Estate is property, usually land.
Merchandise here means trade/commerce.
Basically, the guy got a good piece of land through buy and sell.
Something like that, if you take it literally.

He made a fortune through commerce
