"Qui" e "lì" hanno un significato leggermente più preciso
"vieni qua!" = vieni da questa parte, vicino a me
"vieni qui!" = vieni qui in questo punto preciso
Ma la differenza è davvero minima, sono intercambiabili in molti casi

They're basically the same, but in some expressions it is more natural to use "qua" and "là" rather than "qui" and "lì":
1. dammi qua = give it to me (we don't say dammi qui)
2. quaggiù = down here (we don't say quiggiù)
3. quassù = up here (we don't say quissù)
3. laggiù = down there (we don't say liggiù)
4. lassù = up there (we don't say lissù)
but in most cases they're exactly the same:
1. eccoci qua = eccoci qui = here we are
2. non ti sento da qui = non ti sento da qua = I can't hear you from here
3. lì c'è la mia scuola = là c'è la mia scuola = there is my school over there
