Most people in America drive their car to work every day. They normally would have 2 cars so the wife and husband can both drive to their work. Some people share rides, however. A friend will pick them up and they would work at the same place. The next week perhaps they switch, and the other friend picks up her working partner and will drive that week. This saves money on the gasoline they must buy for the car. People in large cities could take a bus to work. A "car pool" is when one person could pick up several other people who work at the same place, and the other riders could help pay for gasoline, or take a turn driving the next week. Whatever arrangement they make would help everyone.
