Got any tips for learning the Cockney accent?
I'm interested in learning some Cockney (refering to the accent, not the slang), which I find quite nice. I've always been going for recieved pronunciation, but now I'd like to take one step further and learn another accent.
Do you know any good films for practicing Cockney? Have you got any other tips?

Short of going to east London and living there, check out films like "Snatch" (there's a mix of accents: beware), or watch the whole series of "Eastenders".
Or you could memorise this sketch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEL3pS_dM8w
(Rhyming slang is not as hard as it seems.)
Pay attention to the dropped "h" and the glottal "t", and get the "skipping" rhythm down pat.

Why would you want to replicate a cockney accent? Do you really want to sound like an East London market trader?

If you were a professional actor, I would recommend studying with a voice and diction coach. If you couldn't find a coach, there are tapes you could buy to help you acquire specific accents: http://www.tudorguild.org/cockney-accents-tape-pr-740.html
After that, watching movies seems like a good idea....
