the internet says about private and personal info: personal information includes topics such your sexual preference, the status of your parents relationship, basically anything like that that the general public would not NEED to know about you. Private information is things like your credit card numbers, etc, or anything that people SHOULD not know about you.
One more thing: Personal : you can share with your friends
Private : you keep it with yourself
Hope it will help you

If something is personal, no one else has any business knowing your personal affairs. Something can be sensitive to you, and it should not be discussed by other people. You could say, "that's personal". Don't ask questions that are personal".
If something is private, you don't want anyone to know about it. You might tell just your closest friend about something private, but you also tell them, "don't say a word about this....let's keep it private". It's a secret. Some things you don't tell people about. It is a private matter.
