Keeping up a facade?? SCRIPT Bree: "Well maybe if we take it away from him, then he'll start to understand what he did! He has not shown an ounce of remorse since the accident." Rex: "Of course he feels bad! He's just, you know, keeping up a facade." Bree: "Well, he's doing a fabulous job!" QUESTION What's the meaning of "keeping up a facade"? FYI, their son hit a woman by car. He was in the DUI. She's in a coma. I figure Rex says his son already showed some kind of remose by 'walking around the very residence where the victim lived with some guilty.' Do I assume rightly? Please let me know your answer~

Keeping up a facade means showing others we feel happy/brave/strong when we actually feel sad/cowardly/vulnerable. We project an image that is not actually the way we feel.

facade is the outer wall of a building, the metapher here is used to pretend something false keeping the secrets inside would explain this too
