It's a meal between breakfast and lunch.

It is not just a meal between breakfast and lunch. Brunch can be served between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and would replace breakfast and lunch. Brunch is popular on the weekends and holidays when people don't have to go to work and can sleep in.
