"sweet sam houston" what does this mean?
I got this line from big bang theory, the most recent episode. Sheldon said: Well, I believe I've done it. And I'm only saying "Believe" To sound modest, because, sweet Sam Houston, I did it. about this "sweet sam houston". I'm thinking it's pretty much the same as "oh, boy; jesus" stuff like that, Am I right? Is there more to this phrase? Thanks

Haha yeah it's similar to "sweet Jesus" because Sheldon is from Texas and Houston, TX is named after a man named Sam Houston. That's probably where the phrase comes from.

Haha yeah. I've never heard this expression. It sounds like a made-up cuss word to me. :)
