Does 'got sent' have a special meaning in mafia?
"That was Sonny Red's guy. Wants to have a sit down in Little Italy. I got sent for."
Someone please tell me the meaning of 'sent for'.

"I got sent for" is colloquial English for 'I was asked to come'. =o)

No it's used by everyone, it's informal speech.

Passive voice, man.
