anchor - NON-PC VERSION: anchorman, anchorwoman
flight attendant - NON-PC VERSION: steward, stewardess
mail carrier - NON-PC VERSION: mailman
etc.
thanks for the help!

PC = politically correct. You'll notice that a number of professions have been deliberately de-gendered and neutralised in modern English. A "non-PC version" means the older form which indicates someone's gender (eg. stewardess).
