short answer: "to hit" is criminal slang for robbing some place. "joint" means a place (usually a business).
in some American slang, 'hit' can just mean to go to a place. Or 'hit up'.
"Let's hit a McDonald's on the way back home, I'm hungry and I don't like your cooking!"
"Let's hit up the mall tomorrow, I want to buy some clothes"
Joint isn't used very often, but it can mean a place, particularly one that is frequented by people - and usually a business like a restaurant.
"Let's go to that sushi joint tomorrow"
It's "to hit a (certain) joint", not "one's joint".
