What is the easiest way to learn Mandarin? Do I have to learn the Chinese characters first? I found it hard to learn a language that doesn't use Roman alphabet.

Learn Chinese need to continue accumulating and then you will find the law. The most important thing is confidence.To be confident in yourself.

I agree with you .They are quite different.I think learning how to read it should be the first step.Then you can buy an exercise book to practice the strokes.
