Un progiciel est un "mot-valise" issu de deux mots : produit et logiciel.
Il s'agit d'un logiciel commercial, prêt à l'emploi prévu pour répondre à des besoins ordinaires.
Ce terme s'oppose au logiciel créé sur mesure par des entreprises pour répondre à des besoins spécifiques.

Progiciel is a word derived from Produit (product) and logiciel.
It's a commercial software, ready-to-use and set to meet ordinary needs.
This term is opposed to the logiciel, made by companies in order to respond to more specific needs.
