"Take things as they come." Does it mean "Take things as they are."?

Take things as they come means dealing with each situation as it arises. Take things as they are means accepting the situation.

Pretty much what Barbara said.
It means let things happen and deal with them when they do happen, don't worry about what will happen before it happens, and it also means don't try to change things when they get here, accept them for what they are.
