没面子means lose face: 没 in Chinese means without or sb. don’t have sth.; 面子 means face (the good impression you may leave on others)
没面子occurs in the situation where you feel embarrassed when others have no consideration for your sensibility or when you do sth. stupid or inappropriate. For example, you may 没面子, when you’re mocked by your friends in public; when you trip yourself over on the road;when your girlfriend scolds you in front of your friends 。

A person没面子means he/she feels embarrassed. This is very similar to 丢脸, but not exactly the same. Don't mix them up.
For example,
1. when you are proven wrong in public, you are 没面子。
2. when you skirt slips, and everyone in the street can see your panty. 你很丢脸。
