Perche' per qualche parola, il plurale e il singolare sono uguali? mentre gli altri, non sono uguali????????why???

Most of the time it is a consolidated usage, which took different patterns
just like a random phenomenon; what is left for us is just to learn these words
by hearth; maybe some rules exists, but those are for the philological researcher.
An interesting question, but needs a deep, deep study.
