I wondered how native English speakers recite words, answer it please~
The school will start in about half a month, we need to recite many words as a homework. I am suddenly curious about enlarging vocabulary. How do you native speakers recite a word? I have some options. 1.You need not to review the new words on purpose because you will often use it on daily lives 2. You have some method such as separate the words into root and affix. 3. You will meet that words in your reading again and again. Which one is the way you enlarge your vocabulary? By the way, do you have any suggestion for me in reciting words and use it proper and real? Thank you very much.

My best way to keep the meaning of my new vocabualry in Eng.is by using connections. It is scientifically approved that our brain remember old information this way. Connect any new word with its picture if it is concrete, and to a well-known example for it if it is an abstract word..and try to avoid linking it with its translation in your mother tongue.
Good luck :)

Recite = repeat aloud. A flippin' parrot could do this. You mean "remember".
Well, you basically have option 3: keep using the word. Use it till you're sick of it, then use it some more. When we encounter a word we don't use often (and is fairly formal... ie. "long"), we can break it down (option 2).
If you want to remember anything, you have to repeat it. So option 1 is useless. Don't assume that others will repeat it for you.

im a non-native english speaker but i have some good methods in learning english.
1. watch an english movie only with english subtitle. if you dont understand a word, write it down, then find out the meaning later on (if need, you can pause the movie for a while to write down the word you dont know)
2. listen to some english songs that you like (but you never heard before). once again, write down the lyrics (it is also good to improve your listening skill) after that, you can check the lyric you have already write on the internet to get the correction and also find out some words you dont understand. singing it all over again until you get bored (if needed, you can also record your own voice : it doesnt matter even if you dont have a beautiful voice). this method can improve your listening and your prononciation.
3. make a diary in english. if its hard for you, just write it on your own language and then recompose it in english.
learning english must be fun, dont take it as a burden, though :)
hope my methods can help :)
