What is the meaning of "Knob-twiddler"?

The knobs on an electronic device, of course.
In general, this could refer to any technical person who has to operate a device (with knobs) as part of their work. However, it's often used to mean a DJ... and not in a nice way. Such an epithet suggests the DJ has no sense of music at all.
