Pagon is sometimes used as part of the slang introduction word Homepagon. I have only heard it once or twice and it was from a couple of kids on WoW. Are you sure the word wasn't pagan? It is more commonly used and sounds similar when spoken.

In the old Christain world, any religion that is not Christian derived from is called paganism. A person who believes in such kind of religions is known as a pagan. However, this includes Buddhism, Hinduism etc. To prevent religious disharmonty in today's civilized world, the meaning do not apply to other living religions such as Buddhism, Hinduism, etc but to dead religions. Thus the worship of ancient Greek Gods is paganism. Today, it means mostly the belief of rural country folks etc - paganistic views.
