what's the difference between relate and involve?

relate = to give an account of a sequence of events or to narrate.
Example: Can you relate what you saw on the night of the murder?
involve= to cause a person or group to experience or participate in an activity or situation.
Example: Please do not involve me in your arguments with your friends.
