м is not any suffix. -ами, -ями is a termination of an instrumental case of plural nouns. Друг - друзья - друзьями. Время - времена - временами. Ножницы - ножницами.

There is no suffix "-ми" in Russian. In "друзьями": "-м" - suffix, "-и" - ending.
