It should be methodological.
Methodological is an adjective. The noun is methodology, which means:
--> a body of methods, rules, and postulates employed by a discipline : a particular procedure or set of procedures.
--> the analysis of the principles or procedures of inquiry in a particular field
Ex: He blamed the failure of their research on poor methodology.
Ex: He uses poor methodological principals for his research.
I hope this helps!
