To be dark: 어둡다, 깜깜하다
To get/become dark: 어두워지다, 깜깜해지다
--- It's getting dark: 어두워지고 있어요.
To be late: 늦다
To get late: 늦어지다
--- It's getting late: 늦어지고 있어요.
