A suburb is a town near a major city, and usually people who live in a suburb actually work in the city. Some suburbs are tiny but others can be pretty large.
A village is just a small town. It's possible that a village could also be a suburb, but most villages are rural: they're not near a big city, and the people work in the village (as farmers, shopkeepers, etc.) instead of commuting to the city to work.
