What can one answer to the question "di dove sei?"
Hello!
I wonder what one can answer when asked "di dove sei?" I see the question usually responded in my textbook with answers like "Sono di Roma", "Sono di Milano". Does this question mainly mean " which region in this country are you from?"

if the person who asks you already understand that you are Chinese, he is asking you to be more specific so we can respond:
"sono di Pechino"
"sono di Shanghai"...
altrimenti potresti dire :
otherwise you could say:
"I'm Chinese"
"I'm Canadian"
"I'm Italian"
"I'm from USA"
