what's the meaning of "not much of greeting if you ask me".
That was what someone answered when I said 'nice to meet you' Does it mean he didn't want to say greetings or what?

He thought it was inadequate. It's a standard greeting so I don't know why he didn't like it. Maybe he expected you to be more excited to meet him. It may have been your tone when saying it.

The person was saying he did not believe your greeting was sufficient. "(That was) not much of (a) greeting, if you ask me."
