I ran into...
How do you say "I ran into..."? Not literally running and then banged into someone. I mean when you see someone that you know, accidentally. Like "Oh hey, how are you? what are you doing here?"
For context, it's "I ran into an ex-boyfriend today. It was so embarrassing."

That's exactly how you use it. It is a meeting by chance.
'You will never believe who I ran into today!'
'I nearly ran into him, but I arrived just after he left!'
