Most Americans don't object ____them by their first names. A.) that I call B.) to my calling C.) that I am call D.) for calling I thought A.) was also possible. For example, I found in my dictionary: "the boy's father objected that the police had arrested him unlawfully." Do you also think that A.) is wrong? Thank you~

B is the correct and best one.

B sounds correct because object as a verb is followed by "to". For example: Gardaí objected to free legal aid being assigned to Gary O'Flynn and cross-examined him yesterday on property ownership.

B would sound the best of the four, but the way I'd write that sentence is, "Most Americans don't object to being called by their first names."
