「Today I learned」
I'd like to be able to talk about what I learn each day, but I'm not quite sure how to phrase it.

In English, we Japanese learn that "study" means "勉強する・学ぶ" and "learn" means "習う・習得する(しゅうとくする)".
But actually we often use "勉強する(べんきょうする)" in Japanese.
習う(ならう) is used in the situation to go to learn something like piano, soroban, shuuji etc. We call them as one thing ”習い事(ならいごと)"
I learn to play the piano.
I learned to use soroban(before).
I don't learn anything.
If you learn, actually acquire something on that day, you can say
"〜を習いました。" like I learned how to use "すみません" today.
If you don't have to say it exactly, you can say "〜を勉強しました".
Ex. I studied Japanese today.
