A question about "So" and "Too". Is it correct if we say: "He is so smart a boy that he got full marks in all subjects." and is this sentence correct too?: "It was too cold a night to go out." I know I can use "such ..that" but I'm asking if this form is correct : so/too +adjective +a/an+singular noun Thanks in advance..

I think that you are correct. Your second example is fine. The first one sounds a little unnatural to me, but is not obviously wrong. Perhaps it is just that the 'such' form would be used in preference.

They're correct, but also very formal.

They look alright to me. And the general grammar structure is correct, too.

Thank you all..I have checked that in a grammar book which asserted that this form is found in the literature and that it is not very common in daily speech...Thanks again for all of your answers.

The first sentence would be better, and more natural, as " he is such a smart boy that...".
