What is homemate?
never heard of that, except workmate, classmate. does homemate mean family members? thanks!

Where did you see this word? I've never heard it before. It probably means somebody who shares a house with you (but is not related to you), essentially the same meaning as a roommate. I don't think any native English speakers would refer to a family member as a homemate, its not very personal.
