What does "Thought so" mean in this dialog?
Johnny: No...I am waiting to meet someone...but not you! Where are you from, anyway?
Sarah: Well, I live in London now, but I’m originally from Shanghai.
Johnny: Thought so! I’m from Hong Kong.

"Thought so", means "I knew it" in this sentence. In other words, Johnny probably knew he was from Shanghai because he spoke with a certain accent or had certain Shanghainese facial features. Johnny could tell Sarah was from Shanghai without her saying it.
