Hi!
Te extraño mucho you use it to say that you miss a person a lot.
Te echo de menos it`s another way to say "te extraño mucho", so you can use both of them!

Hey! "te hecho mucho de menos" is very weird, because it's just used in movies or novels, and it's a perfect phrase, but it'd sound like a lie ( or an exaggerated truth) if you say it to a person. Therefore, "te extraño mucho" would be really perfect to say it to a person to whom you miss.
I hope I'd helped you!

Puedes usar cualquiera de las dos, pero es más frecuente "te echo de menos" (en español de España).
