Sim. "Comerei " está no futuro. EX.: Domingo comerei no restaurante perto de casa.
A frase "Vou comer" pode dar ideia de futuro ou de imediatismo, depende do que você quer dizer.
Exemplos:
1- Vou comer frutas agora.
2-Vou comer peixe amanhã.
Bom trabalho, escreva sempre!

comerei is a future but it is further future. In english is like simple future ( I will eat).
vou comer is a future but it is nearest future. In english like the immediate future (I'm going to eat).

Both have the same meaning. "Comerei" is more formal.
The idea of "vou comer" is more immediate.
Examples:
Amanhã comerei hambúrgueres.
Hoje vou comer arroz e feijão.
But is not wrong "amanhã vou comer" or "hoje comerei".
Examples:
Vou estudar = estudarei (study)
Vou fazer = farei (make)
Vou começar = começarei (begin)
