With sports, we use play. With activities, we use do. Which sports do you play? What activities do you do? I do yoga and I play basketball.

Different geographic locations, I can't tell you which one is correct. In US, most people would say: Which sports do you play? " play" means to be involved in doing something for fun.

I never really thought about it before I read this question. I love this website because it initiates useful conversations like this one. I came here to learn other languages but I am learning just as much about Engligh. :-)

Thanks Clay, I didn't realise Americans didn't use 'do' for sports. It's common in Australia (and presumably Britain).

I am answering based on American English. According to the Oxford dictionary "do" sports is common in British English.
