Note: To me, both answers seem acceptable. What do you think? Is one answer better than the other? If so, why? Thank!

Both are acceptable. If you say " be going" you are focusing on the act of leaving. If you say "be gone", you are focused on the condition of the person who is leaving. Neither is better or worse than the other.
