could you tell me the meaning of 큰일이네요? and when can I use this phrase?

When something to worry about had happened, you say 큰일이네요 to say sorry for that or to express worry for that.
eg) A: 아들이 다쳤어요. 큰일이예요. B: 그것 참 큰일이네요.
취직이 안되서 큰일이예요.
큰일났어요! 불이 났어요!
