"兩下" 的原意是 "雙方面、兩面"。 "兩下子" 除了平常所認識的那一面之外 (竟然) 還有另一面的真實本領或技能 (過去不為我所知 如今知道了 有驚訝之意) 如:「他做事真有兩下子,這麼棘手的問題一下子就搞定了。」 没想到你做菜还真有两下子。> 我不知道你竟然還有做菜的真本事 (讓我驚訝了) 他做买卖有两下儿。> 他對做生意有真本領 他这两下子,够我学了两年了。> 他的真才實學 我望塵莫及

有两下子,is a very oral expression in Chinese, which is a way to compliment somebody for his/her "hidden skill", indicate it's impressive. you can simply translate it as "very good", for example: 他长得不高,人瘦瘦的,没想到真有两下子,三拳两脚就把那人打趴下了。

可以理解为“有几手绝活". It means someone is good at doing something, he can do it better than most of other people.
