aspire vs. strive
What is the difference between aspire and strive?
Which of them do I use to say that I want to do or become sth.
e.g.
I ..... to become a doctor
I .... to stop smoking

Aspire means aiming your hopes to achieve something while strive means making extreme efforts toward a goal.
I aspire to become a doctor.
I strive to stop smoking.

Striving implies intentionality and effort toward achieving the aspired goal.
