she has been dead for 3 years / she has died for 3 years
are both the same meaning?
someone told me, 'she has died for 3 years' was not correct.
if that is so, why? :S
"She has died for three years" doesn't make sense because it means she has been doing this repeatedly for three years. Unless you're Hyatt or Kenny, this is really impossible. Death is quite a final thing.

"Three years ago" is a specific time in the past. Therefore, present perfect tense is not correct. Simple past tense is called for ("she died three years ago").

the correct answer is " she died 3 years ago."
you cannot say " She has died for three years " this is Present Perfect and here we are caring about the result.
and this is definitely a deadly mistake because " DEATH" happens only 1 time and then it's OVER.
