How to reply on compliments in Japanese?
For example, when someone say 「日本語が上手ですね。」 I usually say 「ありがとうございます。日本語が下手です。」...etc. Also, when someone say 「頭がいいですね。」 I don't know how to reply.
So, how should I reply on compliments?
ありがとうございます。

In Japan, modesty is thought of as virtue.
When someone say 「日本語が上手ですね」, I think this reply is very commonly, 「いえいえ、そんなことありません。まだまだ勉強中です。」
