how to use "kind of " and "kinda" when talking to others?

You would use it to say "a little like" something.
I'm kind of hungry, but I can wait.
He is kinda good at what he does, so you might want to listen to him. (Sarcastic)
The kids are kinda tired right now, they were up late last night.

"kinda" is an informal term/word used by many. Like wanna, gonna, gotta and the likes.
